Monk Montgomery, one of the first to switch from upright bass to the electric bass (the first type of Fender Precision, 1951). In many ways he was one of the truly originators of the groove tones that today we tend to take for granted. This great 1971 track is a powerful reminder. Thanks, Ponytone, for undigging it.
