El Chicles were a latin funk band from Belgium who backed Nico Gomez in the 60s and recorded under many disguises, including The Sumos and Chicken Curry & His Pop Percussion Orchestra. See our earlier post on the Sumos.

this song was just perfect. my Spanish is rusty, but doesn't that band name translate to English as The Gums?
